Why is it important??
- With both students with Dyslexia or characteristics of Dyslexia and ELL students it is important to teach the rules and exceptions for the rules. In both these areas, the processing part of the brain is affected. For the student with Dyslexia, it is because of how their brain works, and for students that are ELLs they are needing to translate what they are learning to help them understand.
- By understanding your students, you can gear lessons to help them better understand the concepts that are taught while teaching them the fundamentals that will carry over from reading, to writing and spelling.
