Oral Language Assessments
Oral language is difficult to assess, and teachers need to be creative when assessing them.
Teachers learn a lot through assessment and learning about a student's oral language abilities is no different. Through assessment, a teacher can find out how great or small a student's vocabulary is and can then work to increase vocabulary knowledge of students that have less than others. Assessments help guide the teaching of students as both individuals and as groups.

- One method is to have teachers assess speaking skills by short oral reports, role playing, or just listening to students talk. A teacher can learn a lot about a student's oral language by listening to them speak.
